Yesterday the Central Darling Shire Council presented the Wilcannia Shell Roadhouse with 500 donated calico and cloth bags. In early March the Wilcannia Shell Roadhouse approached the Central Darling Shire Council to support the reduction of plastic bags within the township and at the waste depot by issuing calico bags. The Central Darling Shire Council supported the idea and proactively searched for businesses which were interested in donating calico bags for the cause. At present the Central Darling Shire Council has received a generous donation of calico and cloth bags from the following businesses;

  • Central Darling Shire Council
  • Ryde City Council
  • Newcastle City Council
  • Bunning- Mildura
  • Keep Australia Beautiful
  • Banstown City Council
  • Tic Pack-South Australia
  • Campbells Whole- Parramatta
  • Big W-Broken Hill
  • Sutherland Shire Council
  • Western CMA- Broken Hill
  • The Watershed- Newtown

    The Central Darling Shire Council would like to take this opportunity to thank the businesses mentioned for their generous donations to the Wilcannia Plastic Bag Reduction Project.
