Menindee is as oasis in the Outback, a beautiful spot to soak up the outback atmosphere with the convenience of modem service at your fingertips. Dubbed the first town on the Darling River, Menindee has a rich Indigenous and European history. Menindee is located close to Kinchega National Park where visitor can enjoy spectacular views of the Menindee lakes and the Darling River, as well as close encounters with local wildlife. Ivanhoe is serviced with essentials such as petrol, diesel and limited accommodation available. A camping and caravan park and some cabin accommodation is also available. Wilcannia provides many services for the traveller including petrol, food, hotel and motel accommodation, a golf club as well as a beautiful caravan park situated on the banks of the Darling River. The main street of Wilcannia is lined with historic sandstone buildings and a short walk down the street will transport the visitor back in time to the days when the river was the highway to the 'Outback'.
